Last to Show First To go debuts Farmer John EP

Farmer John EP

If you love your music local, like I do – you may have already heard of Last to Show First to Go. If you haven’t, pick up there first album “Short Cuts” on iTunes or on their website

This prolific band is dropping a new album this week called the “Farmer John EP”. This new album departs from some of the more upbeat tones on Short Cuts. Even though this album is a little slower, LTSFTG hasn’t lost their touch for authenticity. Farmer John, the title track is a work LTSFTG had been working on throughout the show schedule for Short Cuts. It’s a great tune! My personal favorite is “Far Be It” with its dynamic bass licks, laid down by Jay Lewis on the acoustic bass. Bredon Jones, the lead singer has a voice that would make any woman swoon in his presence on stage. Bredon’s lead vocals and guitar are supported by a Herculean foundation in Mikey Naucus (pronounced Naw-chis) on rhythm guitar and background vocals and Phil Valko on drums. Recently added to the band roster is Miriam Keller on trumpet and background vocals. Her artful trumpet playing adds a great texture to the already earthy, natural sounds.

Here is a little sample from the album, my favorite thus far – Far Be It.

Far Be It

The album was mixed by two geniuses named Ryan at R&R Labs, the people who brought us the STL Loud project and will be bringing us much more quality music in the future. Check them out here

The guys and lady will be performing the album cuts at the Sheldon Concert Hall on Washington tomorrow night. Admission is only $10. They will be joined by two other good bands in Jump Starts and Treehouse. Come on out! I’ll see you there!
